The premiere episode of the epic HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones not only oriented viewers to the lay of the land but also introduced viewers to incredibly well laid plotlines revealing the characters of George R.R. Martin’s world of the Seven Kingdoms. After that shocking closing scene from the first episode, you know that this series can only keep getting better from here!

Game of Thrones: Episode Synopsis for “The Kingsroad” (Season One, Episode Two)
King Robert (Mark Addy) and his entourage head south with Ned Stark (Sean Bean) and his daughters Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Arya (Maisie Williams). While on the road, Arya gets into trouble with Prince Joffrey (Jack Gleeson), which leaves Ned with a difficult decision to make. Meanwhile, Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) head off to the Wall in the north, the former to join the Night’s Watch and the latter for curiosity. In Essos, Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) is learning what it means to be married to a Dothraki warlord. In Winterfell, Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) is fighting for his life after his fall.
