This is not happy news. Having to wait even longer for a highly anticipated new show is never happy news. But we are valiant, and we will rise above. Here it is: Fox has postponed the premiere of the J.J. Abrams/J.H. Wyman-created, Karl Urban/Michael Ealy-starring robot buddy cop futuristic procedural Almost Human, from Monday, November 5 to Sunday, November 17.
The good news amongst the bad is that the second episode will follow on the very next day, Monday, November 18, in its regular slot of Mondays at 8/7c.
Just so we’re clear, here’s this from Fox (we supplied the bolding):
Sunday, Nov. 17:
12:00 PM-CC ET FOX SPORTS: NFL ON FOX (live)
7:00-8:00 PM ET NFL SPILLOVER/THE O.T. (live)
8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT ALMOST HUMAN (Series Premiere; Night One)
9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT THE SIMPSONS (All-New Episode)
9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT FAMILY GUY (All-New Episode)Mondays, beginning Nov. 18:
8:00-9:00 PM ALMOST HUMAN (Time Period/Series Premiere; Night Two)
9:00-10:00 PM SLEEPY HOLLOW (All-New Episode)[EDITOR’S NOTE 1: The East Coast start time of ALMOST HUMAN on Sunday, Nov. 17, could change due to NFL ON FOX.]
Although that lovely list could be interpreted as telling us a rebroadcast is in store on the 18th, Deadline is calling it the premiere of the second episode. I’m honestly a little surprised that Fox would risk some viewers, particularly east coast people, missing the Sunday premiere because of the not-necessarily-solid post-football start time, per that “Editor’s Note” (which is Fox‘s note, not mine).
We’ll obviously keep you posted if there is any more clarification or “refinement” of the schedule, and you can keep an eye on the SciFiMafia.com calendar here or on the tab at the top of this page. Until then, we’ll say:
Almost Human, starring Karl Urban, Michael Ealy, Lilli Taylor, Michael Irby, Minka Kelly, and Mackenzie Crook will premiere on Sunday, November 17 at 8/7c before moving into its regular slot of Mondays at 8/7c beginning with Episode 2 on November 18, on Fox.
