November seemed ridiculously far away when we heard back in May that we would have to wait SIX MONTHS for the next episode of Doctor Who. Now it’s only sixteen days away! We will try to pretend that, “to stay interested,” we need a steady release of Doctor Who goodness, like the new screenshots below, before the premiere of the 50th Anniversary special, Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor.
The fact of the matter, as I drink my coffee from my TARDIS mug and gaze at my TARDIS monitor mate, is that I need no help to stay interested. I may need another kind of help, however, as I dust the TARDIS lunchbox next to the TARDIS Yahtzee set and K9 bobblehead.
That’s Joanna Page as Queen Elizabeth. Here’s a reminder of the synopsis, released earlier this week:
The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th Anniversary Special: in 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him.
Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor starring Matt Smith, David Tennant, Jenna-Louise Coleman, Billie Piper, Joanna Page, Jemma Redgrave and John Hurt will air November 23rd on BBC America.
