The man has trained a pig to herd sheep. He was a prison warden. He is the first earthperson to break the warp barrier. Well, he at least played those parts onscreen. Now he’s going to take on the formidable Jessica Lange – okay, his character will be taking on her character – on Season 2 of the anthology American Horror Story.
Deadline broke the news that James Cromwell (Babe, The Green Mile, Star Trek: First Contact) has been cast to play Dr. Arden, who works at the institution for the criminally insane which is run by Jessica Lange‘s character. Bearing in mind that she, along with all the actors who were in Season 1 and are returning for Season 2, will be playing a character that is opposite of her previous character, she will be… the nice one? We’ll be watching, no matter what.
American Horror Story Season 2, starring Jessica Lange, Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Chloë Sevigny, James Cromwell, Adam Levine, and Lizzie Brocheré, will be premiering this fall on FX.
