Just last month, Gemma Arterton (Wrath of the Titans) scored the role of Gretel, alongside Jeremy Renner‘s (The Hurt Locker, The Avengers) Hansel in director Tommy Wirkola‘s (Dead Snow) Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. The story picks up the fairy-tale siblings 15 years after their traumatic gingerbread house incident, which provoked them to become witch hunters.

Now, Deadline reports that Famke Janssen (Down the Shore, X-Men) has joined the cast. Janssen’s exact role is currently unknown.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters is slated to hit theaters in 2011.
