Sunday night at the Jameson Empire Film Awards in London, J.J. Abrams Star Trek was nominated for three awards and won the award for Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film. Simon Pegg, who played Montgomery “Scotty” Scott in Abrams’ reboot was there to accept the award, and Next Gen Captain – Sir Patrick Stewart was also on hand to present the Icon Award to Sir Ian McKellen.
