DreamWorks Picks Up High-Concept Sci-Fi Film; Fox Nabs Dystopian Young Adult Novel

DreamWorks has acquired Nic Kelman’s original sci-fi script entitled Genneris. The studio is keeping the details about the project under wraps, but the project is being described as a “high-concept sci-fi film”.

20th Century Fox has nabbed the rights to Tahereh Mafi’s young adult novel Shatter Me. The novel is scheduled to hit stores this fall, and Variety reports that Shatter Me is set in a dystopian world and follows the story of a 17-year-old girl imprisoned for possessing a fatal touch. As she watches everything crumble around her, she must choose between relinquishing her power or use it to save the world.

You can preorder Shatter Me, published by HarperCollins at Amazon
