ABC has confirmed that David Goyer has stepped down as showrunner on FlashForward. The show’s co-creator will still be involved with the series, which stars Joseph Fiennes and Dominic Monaghan, in capacity as executive producer. In a statement, Goyer said the decision was due to time constraints.
Goyer said,
“As my feature projects have started ramping up again, I felt I was being pulled in too many directions,” Goyer said in a statement. “I’m proud of the show and excited about the relaunch. It’s in great hands.”
Now, Deadline Hollywood is reporting that one of those feature projects that Goyer was speaking about is none other than the follow-up to THE DARK KNIGHT.
From Deadline,
Of course, Goyer’s feature career is really heating up, since he co-wrote Batman Begins, and penned the story for The Dark Knight, and is now writing the third Batman installment with Chris Nolan’s brother Jonah.
Goyer became sole showrunner of FlashForward in October of last year after Marc Guggenheim departed, amidst speculation that the network was concerned about its creative direction. As of know, it’s unknown who will replace Goyer as showrunner.
