This is the week, Da Vinci’s Demons fans. We’ve known for some time, or at least since I spoke with Tom Riley and Laura Haddock, that episode 5 is the one where Leo reaches the New World. And to the surprise of no viewer, it is absolutely gorgeous, like everything else about this rich and involving and transporting and addictive series.

Except…

Remember how disturbing the Season 1 episode with Vlad the Impaler was? Take that Disturbing Feeling Dial and give it a big crank, because this week… I will not spoil the circumstances but thirty minutes after my screening concluded I’m still feeling the aftereffects. Probably best to not watch this during the dinner hour. Just saying.
