It’s difficult to tell from this 4+ minute clip of the next Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode whether you really need to have seen the new Thor movie to get a full appreciation of what’s going on. At least at the beginning, it looks like you only need to have seen the numerous TV spots we’ve been posting here at SciFiMafia.com.
Remember, as we told you earlier this month, this episode is described as follows: “In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film THOR: THE DARK WORLD, Coulson and The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces — one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team.”
So sink right into this clip, which is probably from the very beginning of the episode. You might take particular delight, as I have, in Agent Coulson’s quips about “Thor and his people”:

I adore Elizabeth Henstridge narrating the beginning. Well done, writers, tapping into our not-so-secret love of British accents, especially when narrating tales and legends.
And yes, that’s the petite Erin Way, formerly of Syfy’s Alphas, looking about as ferocious as a spitting-mad kitten, but hey, they can be scary too. She’s terrific, and I’m looking forward to seeing her in the rest of the episode, which was directed by Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: The Next Generation), and which also features guest star Peter MacNicol (Dragonslayer, Numbers).
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., starring Clark Gregg, Brett Dalton, Ming-na Wen, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, and Chloe Bennet, airs Tuesdays at 8/7c, on ABC.
