Last Monday marked the kickoff for the premieres for fall television. 13.6 million viewers tuned into CBS’ “Big Bang Theory” (4.4 preliminary adults 18-49 rating), up 28% from last year’s numbers and hitting a series high. These were strong numbers even against the winner of the night, Fox’s “House” that won the night’s viewership of 16.5 million people (6.5 preliminary adults 18-49 rating), an increase of 14% from last year.
NBC came in last place for Monday night’s numbers: “Heroes: Redemption”, a two hour premiere, drew only 6 million viewers (2.7 preliminary adults 18-49 rating), down a whopping 46% from last year’s one hour season premiere. This is very disappointing comparedto the series’ first season premiere of over 16 million viewers.
