First let’s have the casting news. The latest from the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special: An Adventure in Space and Time is that the role of Patrick Troughton, who played the Second Doctor, has been cast. He will be played by Reece Shearsmith who was in a popular British sketch show called The League of Gentlemen with (drumroll) Mark Gatiss.
Speaking of Mark Gatiss! He has been hard at work recreating the The Dalek Invasion of Earth filmed and aired in 1964 during the first Doctor’s (William Hartnell) Second Season. In fact, Gatiss took some time to film some of the set up of the Daleks at London’s Westminster Bridge. You can imagine the commotion it probably caused in such a prominent location.
