Here’s a great featurette for Divergent that is mostly interviews with the cast. They each talk a little bit about their character, and how Divergent compares to The Hunger Games; they each have strong female leads in a dystopian setting, but are completely different in plot.

I think it is much harder to picture a single faction that you could belong to. It make sense that that most of the cast could see themselves in two or three different factions.
