We made it! We made it to the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who! More important, we made it through the worldwide commercial-free simulcast of Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctors. I never thought anything would top “Blink” as my favorite episode, until I saw “The Doctor’s Wife”. With apologies to Neil Gaiman, who wrote that episode, The Day of the Doctors is now firmly in the top spot.
I think Mr. Gaman will understand:
Yeah, I cried. Twice. Beautiful.

Now don’t worry, what we’re about to show you isn’t really very spoilery, if you haven’t seen the episode (I’m sorry, I hope the life-threatening emergency has now been contained), so feel free to enjoy.
If you were following BBC One’s tweets during the simulcast, you saw these beautifully captioned screenshots. I’ve saved them all for you, and here they are for your complete pleasure:
Yes, I wish there were more, too.
Also, if you saw the pre-show event on BBC America, you saw these two featurettes, which we also now happily present for your reliving:

And finally, if you’ve seen commercials for the new Graham Norton Show with guests David Tennant and Matt Smith, you may have noticed Mr. Tennant’s unusual hairstyle. Here’s the bit that explains it:
