- When I was 4, my mom gave me a red cape. I wore that thing until the day I jumped off a wardrobe and woke up concussed. The cape mysteriously disappeared, and in spite of my mother’s insistence I don’t think it was Lex Luthor. At age 6 I received a permanent scar on my chin from an attempt to channel the Force and spring out of a swimming pool that was posing as a Sarlacc Pit. I have numerous scars on my hands, legs, and arms from more childhood mishaps with power tools while forging wooden swords and constructing lightsabers. I’ve been a geek all my life and I’ve paid for it with blood, sweat, tears, and fingertips…and it’s glorious.
