Earlier this month, we brought you the news when Summit Entertainment announced that Oscar winner Catherine Zeta-Jones (Rock of Ages) and Byung-hun Lee (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) had been cast in the Dean Parisot (Justified, Galaxy Quest) directed Red 2, alongside returning cast-members Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker and Helen Mirren.

Now, THR reports that Anthony Hopkins (Thor, Thor 2) is in negotiations to join the all-star cast of Red 2 as a genius scientist who was locked up in an insane asylum.

Red 2 is slated to hit theaters on August 2, 2013.
