A few weeks ago, we brought you news of Ewen Bremner’s (Trainspotting, Jack the Giant Killer) casting in Bong Joon-ho’s indie Sci-Fi film Snow Piercer. This project, produced by Park Chan-wook (Oldboy, Thirst), has just gained another to the cast.
Variety reports that Kenny Doughty (The Incident, Elizabeth) has just been cast in Snow Piercer. Doughty joins Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, and John Hurt in this post-apocalyptic thriller.
Snow Piercer follows Chris Evans’ character who is looking for his kidnapped son in a future world where a failed experiment to stop global warming caused an Ice Age that killed off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snow Piercer, a train that travels around the globe, powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine.
If you’re familiar with Park Chan-wook’s work, you’ll know that this film will not be your ordinary post-apocalyptic film. The drama of Snow Piercer is sure to be within the primal depths of each character.
Snow Piercer is slated to hit theaters in 2013.
