There are plenty of reasons to be excited about this summers Avengers movie. For one it’s directed by Joss Whedon of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly fame. It’s also the first superhero movie to tie together the stories of several other superhero franchises, creating a mega-superhero extravaganza-time that promises to rock our faces off.

Marvel wants to be sure you’re as excited as they are, and to help with that they are kicking off a new series; The Avengers Prelude: Nick Fury’s Big Week is a new 8 issue miniseries which will arrive every Tuesday beginning February 14 for 99 cents an issue.

“We’ve worked hand-in-hand with Marvel Studios to create an exciting story set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that sets the stage perfectly for the most anticipated film of the summer,” said Axel Alonso, Marvel Editor-in-Chief. “Now, for the first time, you’ll find out just what happened to some of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes on the road to ‘Marvel’s The Avengers.'”
