Just last month, we brought you the news when director Patty Jenkins (Monster), who was set to take over director Kenneth Branagh‘s seat at the helm of Marvel Studios forthcoming Thor sequel, departed the project due to creative differences.

Now, Deadline reports that director Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones, The Sopranos) has been chosen by Marvel as Jenkins’ replacement to direct Thor 2.

Thor 2 is slated to hit theaters on November 15th, 2013.
