Lionsgate has released the first trailer for Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard‘s upcoming horror film, The Cabin in the Woods. I have to admit that we haven’t really covered this movie, thinking it was going to be either pure horror, or something of a satire on the stereotypical “kids in a cabin” cliché horror movie. I, for one was pleasantly surprised that they tossed a big sci-fi twist into this movie.

Synopsis:

A group of friends at a cabin retreat scratch the surface of something so massive and horrific that they can only begin to fathom it as time quickly runs out.

The Cabin in the Woods directed by Drew Goddard, written by Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon, and starring Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford, Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth and Fran Kranz is slated to hit theaters on April 13th, 2012.
