Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. starring Nicolas Cage (Trespass), Violante Placido (The American), Ciarán Hinds (John Carter) and Johnny Whitworth (Limitless, Valley of the Sun) and Idris Elba (Prometheus) isn’t slated to hit theaters until next February, but directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (Crank, Crank 2) are planning to debut the “evolved” Ghost Rider at this year’s Comic-Con.

The directors announced their excitement via a series of messages on their Twitter account:

GRSOV update: this movie is fucking badass

can’t wait to reveal the evolved GR…… comicon seems like a year away

not sure where the last one came from, but this GR comes from nightmares

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is slated to hit theaters on February 17th, 2012.
