A little over a year ago, we told you that 20th Century Fox was looking to develop a reboot of Daredevil, in order to retain the movie rights to Marvel Comics’ sightless superhero. News Corp VP Peter Chernin was on tap to produce, and David Scarpa (The Last Castle, The Day the Earth Stood Still) was writing the script.

Now, Variety reports that 20th Century Fox and Peter Chernin’s, Chernin Entertainment have hired director David Slade (Eclipse, The Last Voyage of Demeter) to helm the Fox reboot. It seems they’re not going to use Scarpa’s script from last year, and are currently seeking a writer who will work closely with Slade.

Slade’s Daredevil is rumored to not be an actual reboot but, more of a continuation of the 2003 film. Rumors are currently floating around that they are planning to adapt the “Born Again” storyline from the comics, which was written by Frank Miller.

No production or release dates have been announced.
