Back in April, Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Ultimatum, United 93, Green Zone) was in talks to direct a remake of the 1966 Sci-Fi classic Fantastic Voyage for producer James Cameron‘s Lightstorm Entertainment and 20th Century Fox. The following month, Greengrass passed on directing Fantastic Voyage in favor of helming Warner Bros. remake of Treasure Island, if he and the studio can agree on a screenwriter.

Now, even though Shane Salerno, Cormac Wibberley and Marianne Wibberley have all attempted to tackle the script for Fantastic Voyage, THR reports that Laeta Kalogridis, who did some rewrites for James Cameron‘s Avatar is now reteaming with Cameron to rewrite the remake of the sci-fi classic.

Fantastic Voyage is slated to hit theaters in 2013.
