The CW Looks To Adapt Another DC Comic Following SMALLVILLE

With Smallville coming to a close this fall, the CW is considering following up on the success of the show with another comic book-to-television adaptation. The network is in talks with DC Comics on developing a new show. According to Dawn Ostroff, the entertainment president for the network, it is still early in the process, but the CW’s intent is true:

“We have started to talk about if there are other DC comic book adaptations. We haven’t picked anything else up to develop yet, [but] we would like to see something on the air, so we’re going to work on it.”

This new show could possibility be a spin-off to Smallville. Ostroff continues:

“We are talking about everything. The characters are there. We’re looking at the DC library. There are different parts of the puzzle. At the end of the day, I would love to be able to say that Smallville is going off the air and now we have something else is coming on.”

Smallville premieres its tenth and final season on September 24th on the CW.
