With Pixar planning sequels for both Toy Story and Cars, it’s about time they are thinking about Monsters, Inc. Though Monsters, Inc. (and Up) director Pete Docter remained tight-lipped on a potential sequel while making the rounds promoting Up, word out of the Licensing International Expo (via Jim Hill) is that Disney and Pixar are very interested in a sequel and Docter is already hard at work planning one.
Any sequel wouldn’t even hit theaters until 2013 most likely, seeing as Pixar’s immediate plans are to release Toy Story 3 (2010), Cars 2 (2012), Newt (2011) and The Bear and the Bow (Christmas 2011).
Which means I probably won’t see the ‘Incredibles’ sequel I’ve been begging for until about 2020!
