We reported back in January that director D.J. Caruso was set to helm I AM NUMBER FOUR for DreamWorks Studios. Variety is now reporting that Alex Pettyfer (Beastly) is in negotiations to star in the film. I AM NUMBER FOUR was written by Smallville creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, with Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg both producing the film.
DreamWorks Studios has also launched an official facebook page for the film, which includes a fast-approaching release date of February 18, 2011.
The story centers on nine aliens who flee their home planet for Earth, disguised as teenagers, when Number Four, who, discovers the the enemy species who drove them from their planet are still hunting the group.
