ABC has rethought their launch plan for their much buzzed about reboot of the 80’s scifi TV series, “V”, to go around the Winter Olympics. “V” will still premiere on its date of November 3rd and air 3 eps after that, but then the show will go on hiatus for the duration of the Olympics. Broadcast of new episodes will continue after the break
Supposedly, this decision to change how the show is presented is to “promote the series as an event”. A spokesperson for ABC stated that this is part of the new strategy to airs the 13-ep order of “V” in ‘pod form’. This follows disappointing rumors that ABC had ‘put the show on hiatus’ for a creative overhaul. This new strategy extends said hiatus an additional 4 weeks for a 6 week total time off.

Syfy’s production of “Caprica” is also affected by the Winter Olympics as the show is shot in Vancouver. Contrary to rumors that point to a similar situation that “V” is experiencing, “Caprica”s only rescheduling issue is that Vancouver will be difficult to shoot in while the Olympics are going on.
