One of the good news/bad news things about being a resident of Comic-Con‘s Hall H is that you sometimes find yourself in attendance at panels for movies that were not previously on your radar, while you wait for Legendary and Warner and Marvel to make their appearances. Sometimes this is good, sometimes not. Horns was one of the good ones.
Based on the novel by Joe Hill (Locke & Key), whose resemblance to his father Stephen King was clear at the panel, and starring Daniel Radcliffe, this is no Harry Potter. Grown up Mr. Radcliffe was charming and engaging, and as you’ll see in the trailer below, can do a lovely American accent.
If you were curious, by the way, he fully understands the impact that the Harry Potter movies had on so many peoples’ lives, and is grateful to have been a part of it. He isn’t jaded or irritated or even slightly cranky about it. He is just what you would hope for a young actor who has been involved in a mighty series. Lovely.
The trailer is the “green band” version, meaning it’s G-rated. The movie is definitely not, but looks really terrific. We were able to see a couple of clips along with the trailer, and based on the panel, clips, and trailer, it’s definitely one I’ll want to see.
Daniel Radcliffe stars in this twisted new thriller, based on the best-selling book by Joe Hill.
Blamed for the murder of his girlfriend, Ignatius Perrish (Daniel Radcliffe) awakens one morning to find he’s grown a pair of horns. Armed with new supernatural powers, he sets out to find the true killer.
