This week’s episode of Da Vinci’s Demons is one of the best ever, and this time it’s particularly so from the perspective of the craft of filmmaking. There is wonderful work throughout, but starting about the halfway point and continuing straight on through the ending, the quality of, well, everything, continually ramps up.
It takes the beauty of last week’s episode and what was done with the parallel tests of Leo, Riario, and Lorenzo, and does an even better job of visually and thematically matching each circumstance in this new episode, building towards a heartstopping ending. And that ending is, in turn, perfectly supported by a newly Bear McCreary-arranged version of the Bear McCreary-composed theme. I can’t wait for you all to watch.
