Once Upon a Time fans on Twitter had been waiting and waiting to finally learn which character would be played by lovely ginger Rebecca Mader (Lost, No Ordinary Family) and the answer came in the “coming in 2014” TV spot aired after the conclusion of what ABC called the “winter finale” last Sunday.
ABC hasn’t released that TV spot yet, but Ms. Mader herself tweeted this shortly thereafter:

According to EW, she won’t be referred to as “Elphaba” or “Theodora”, the Wicked Witch’s name in Wicked and Oz the Great and Powerful, respectively, but will have a new name in Once, to put a new spin on the character.
Presumably she’ll be in Fairy Tale Land, because Storybrooke… well, if you watched the winter finale, you know. Besides, her skin tone would make her kinda stick out in Storybrooke. I expect she’s involved in that trouble that Emma’s parents are reportedly involved in. Oh dear.
Once Upon A Time, starring Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Lana Parrilla, Robert Carlyle, Jared Gilmore, Colin O’Donoghue, Meaghan Ohry, Raphael Sbarge, and JoAnna Garcia, returns for the second half of its third season on Sunday, March 9 at 8/7c on ABC.
