In a recent ep of “Warehouse 13”, it was revealed to Artie and us viewers that the Warehouse answers to a higher authority beyond Mrs. Fredricks. These Regents convened in Ted’s Restaurant to question Artie in “Breakdown” which aired on September 8th. It was interesting that each member of the Regents wore the same pin. Take a look at this still of Mark Sheppard’s character, Mr. Valda, presumably the head of the Regents. You can spot the pins on some of the other Regents in the diner. Pins are circled in red in the images below.

The pin is the symbol of the “Eye of Ra/Horus”. The Eye is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection and royal power from deities. It is the all-seeing eye to protect in the afterlife and ward off evil. It is also a symbol representative of the five senses plus thought as a sixth in a mathematical aspect. What does this mean for Mr. Valda and the Regents? Do they see themselves as the all-seeing eye?
It’s not only the Eye of Horus, but you’ll notice that it is the Right Eye of Horus, which symbolizes a tangible and factual approach to the universe and also the sun. The Left Eye represents abstract aesthetic information and intuition and also the moon. In the Egyptian mythos, Horus “rules with two eyes”. Could there be another faction in this equation to achieve balance?
Does this symbol mean that the Regents believe they are the world’s protection? Protection from what exactly- artifacts in general or something more sinister? Who is MacPhereson working for?
