This has to go down as one of the best Twitter conversations of the year, maybe of the decade, at least for we who have a deep and abiding love for the original Star Trek TV series, movie series, William Shatner, Damon Lindelof, and/or Brannon Braga, writer on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Voyager, and Enterprise, and the movies Star Trek: First Contact, and most important for this conversation, Star Trek: Generations, the movie in which Shatner’s Capt. Kirk dies.
Lindelof was a producer on the first J.J. Abrams Star Trek movie, and a writer on Star Trek: Into Darkness, which has already begun its world premieres. His birthday is April 24. Okay, even non-geeks should be properly prepped now, here you go with the unedited (LANGUAGE WARNING) conversation:
@damonlindelofI heard it was your bday yesterday. I would have made a fuss but you didn’t put me in your movie…TWICE!#yesiholdgrudges
— William Shatner (@WilliamShatner) April 25, 2013
@williamshatner You know what else holds a grudge?The time/space continuum.Kirk fell off a cliff and died.#WhyWouldGodNeedAStarship
— Damon Lindelof (@DamonLindelof) April 25, 2013
@damonlindelof @williamshatner Sigh.We all make mistakes…
— Brannon Braga (@BrannonBraga) April 25, 2013
@brannonbraga @damonlindelof Ahhh Brannon and Damon two of the most despised in the Kirk Universe! All we need is Orci to complete trifecta!
— William Shatner (@WilliamShatner) April 25, 2013
@williamshatner @brannonbraga Somehow, this keeps getting better.
— Damon Lindelof (@DamonLindelof) April 25, 2013
@damonlindelof @williamshatner It was a script typo.We accidentally wrote: Killed by ‘Bridge on Kirk’ instead of ‘Kirk on the Bridge.’
— Brannon Braga (@BrannonBraga) April 25, 2013
@williamshatner All that said, I only get to play in this universe because of YOU.And I am profoundly grateful for that.#sincere
— Damon Lindelof (@DamonLindelof) April 25, 2013
@williamshatner Also, I’m getting a T-Shirt made that says –“Shatner Has A Grudge Against Me So Why The Fuck Should I Care What YOU Say?”
— Damon Lindelof (@DamonLindelof) April 25, 2013
@williamshatner Bill, I am both wildly geeking out that you acknowledged my bday and wildly geeking out that you hold a grudge against me.
— Damon Lindelof (@DamonLindelof) April 25, 2013
@damonlindelof So then we’re good? ;-)
— William Shatner (@WilliamShatner) April 25, 2013
@williamshatner We are BEYOND good.We are, in fact, where no good has gone before.#HolyShitBillShatnerTweetedAWinkyFaceAtMe

There is something so endearing about geek heroes geeking out over other geek heroes. Happy weekend, everyone.
