A lot of mystery has been surrounding the movie that’s been referred to as 1952 ever since the deal between Damon Lindelof (Lost, Star Trek Into Darkness) and Walt Disney Pictures was announced back in June 2011 for a multi-platform sci-fi project. In May 2012 we reported that Brad Bird had been brought in to direct. Written by Lindelof and Bird and based on an idea by Lindelof and Jeff Jensen (yes, Losties, Doc Jensen), we didn’t know much about it but were already pretty sure we’d want to see it. Because, you know, Damon.
Disney more recently confirmed and we reported that the movie is slated to hit theaters on December 29, 2014 and will come out in 3D (although Lindelof tweeted to the contrary), and that George Clooney will be starring. Last week Lindelof and Bird tweeted some rather intriguing pictures:

The story goes that Lindelof came across the box in Walt Disney‘s personal development lab, and it was labeled “1952.” It sounded a little like an urban legend, until those pictures were posted.
Today, however, Walt Disney Pictures announced the official name for the movie, and it is… Tomorrowland. Let the speculation begin. It obviously isn’t the first movie named after a Disneyland attraction, even if you don’t count The Haunted Mansion, though it would be the first named (or based on, if in fact it somehow is) an entire Disneyland land. But in spite of many stories to the contrary, there’s one thing it isn’t, at least if you believe Damon Lindelof:
