Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird in comic book form back in 1987 and became an animated series just a year later, though considerably toned down from the darker comic books. In April of last year, we reported that Peter Laird had revealed on his blog that he and Legendary Pictures were planning a new live-action TMNT movie for release in 2011 or 2012. Nickelodeon then bought the rights to TMNT for $60 million and Paramount gained control of the project.
Now, Deadline is reporting that Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon have brought Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, on board to produce the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot with Galen Walker and Scott Mednick.
No other details where included about the project.
