Among these winners, it looks like there is some strong mainstream love for “Chuck” and “Lost”- not a big surprise there. I am very pleased to see that “Supernatural” got Best Genre Show as well as their other wins in Best Friends and Best Show of Skin (LOL!). I’m also glad that “Pushing Daisies” got the Show You’ll Miss Most, though T:TSCC is a close second for me. Summer Glau made the best kind of Terminator- one that you’d never expect from appearances!
All in all, I think we can take this as a strong indicator that sci-fi has secured a strong foothold in mainstream entertainment. Hooray, sci-fi as a genre!! Resistance WAS futile!! :shakes some pom-poms (Never you mind what kind of pom-poms; They are sci-fi pom-poms, ok?): Though I must bring up that missing amongst this list of winners are ‘Heroes’, ‘Fringe’, and ‘Better Off Ted’. ‘Heroes’, I can kind of understand as this last season was not their strongest season. There wasn’t a category that ‘Fringe’ would have been strong in since there was no Best WTF Moment category, but I’ve got to argue that Walter’s one liners are pretty damn funny. ‘Better Off Ted’ is a great new show whose writing continues to amuse and amaze me.
What did you think of the Golden Tater winners this year? Let ‘er rip in the Forum!
