[Rant]  I can’t say that I’m surprised that some of our shows, say :cough: BSG for example :cough: , weren’t nominated for more awards that they obviously deserve at least a nomination for, but I’m at the very least glad that there were nods given to the technical effort and achievements made by sci-fi shows.

I’m massively excited for “Dr. Horrible” being nominated in the new short-format live-action category though it does pit Joss Whedon against former Buffy writer- Jane Espenson’s “BSG: Face of the Enemy”.

Why Bear McCreary didn’t get a nomination for his beautiful score for BSG, I have no frakking clue!  His work on BSG and even T:TSCC, in my opinion, broke paradigms in television scores.  Does the academy even use their ears?

The Academy’s picks definitely contrast that of the public’s as we can compare these nominations with the winners of the public vote for the Tater Top Awards announced earlier this week. At the Golden Tater Awards, Chuck and Lost were clearly popular, but the Academy is… well, not the public!  [end Rant]
