X-Men: First Class – Erica Hosseini Auditioned, Ben Walker Out and More Rumors

Just last month we brought you a report from showbiz411 about the casting of Benjamin Walker (Flags of Our Fathers, The War Boys) as Hank McCoy/Beast in Matthew Vaughn‘s (Kick-Ass, Stardust) upcoming film, X-Men: First Class for 20th Century Fox.

Now it seems that Walker’s casting has yet to be confirmed and rumor has it (via the dailymail) that the 26 year-old actor was actually contracted by Fox, then dropped over concerns that he is too close in age to 31 year-old James McAvoy and 33 year-old Michael Fassbender, the film’s two leads.

Surfer Erica Hosseini took to twitter and revealed that she had recently auditioned for a role in X-Men: First Class and gave more details to Straight2DVD.

Hosseini said,

“I was auditioning for a role named Willow (hopefully I don’t get in trouble for blabbing details on the off-chance that I get it). It’s a role similar to Mystique from what I understand. Potentially lots of body paint, so that would be really fun.” … “I was extremely nervous and reading my lines the best I could. But I have absolutely no acting experience. I really hope that I get a call back, but I’m not holding my breath.”

In other First Class rumors…

Josh Hutcherson is allegedly a favorite for the role of Cyclops in the film. Though he was previously rumored to be the new Peter Parker / Spider-Man just a day before Andrew Garfield was announced as the new webslinger.

and… CBM is reporting that the mutant Jamie Madrox, a.k.a. Multiple Man, (a character was played by Eric Dane in X-Men: The Last Stand) who is a mutant with the power to create clones of himself will be in X-Men: First Class.

X-Men: First Class is slated to hit theaters on June 3rd, 2011.
