X-MEN Character Cut From X-MEN-DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

The Gods of Editing did not smile on one of the many many X-Men characters that are making an appearance in Bryan Singer’s latest movie, X-Men Days of Future Past. Apparently one scene had to be cut, and it was this character’s only screen time.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Rogue (played by True Blood’s Anna Paquin) was filmed in a rescue scene that, while great, isn’t going to make the final cut. In their article they quoted Bryan Singer with the following remarks about the cut.

Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous. It’s a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she’s in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won’t appear in it.

X-Men: Days of Future Past directed by Bryan Singer and starring Evan Peters, Adan Canto, Halle Berry, Omar Sy, Peter Dinklage, Patrick Stewart, Ellen Page, Ian McKellen, Shawn Ashmore, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Fan Bingbing and Jennifer Lawrence is slated to hit theaters on July 18th, 2014.
