Vin Diesel Talks About RIDDICK Release and Teases Future Sequels

Last month, we brought you the last image from the set of Riddick, featuring director David Twohy and Jordi Mollà‘s crew of mercenaries from the film, which also stars stars Vin Diesel, Joel William Gonzales, Karl Urban, Katee Sackhoff, Bokeem Woodbine and Dave Bautista.

Now, Vin Diesel has taken to his Facebook page to comment on the forthcoming release of Riddick, and the potential sequels:

Diesel said,

“The studio said the earliest they could release the new Riddick is in January… was hoping for 2012… but, it’s on the horizon.

P.S. I think they are liking what they are seeing… haha, cause they asked when both Underverse and Furya would be ready to make and release… haha… now that’s a ways in the future but it is exciting.”

Synopsis:

Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick (Diesel) fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.

Riddick is slated to hit theaters in 2013.
