Just a little over a week ago, we brought you the news about Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) joining the cast of director David Twohy‘s forthcoming installment in the Riddick franchise, in the female lead role opposite actor Vin Diesel.

Now, Diesel has posted the first image of himself from the set as Richard B. Riddick in what appears to be some Necro-style armor, along with his goggles (of course). Check it out below!

Synopsis:

 Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick (Diesel) fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.

The Untitled Chronicles of Riddick Sequel is slated to hit theaters in 2013.
