TIMECOP Reboot Gets a Writer Duo

TIMECOP

I actually really liked Timecop (1994) when it came out and after watching it recently I still liked it (though I could live without Jean-Claude Van Damme‘s mullet), but I could get on board with a remake that was done properly. The one presently in the works for Universal Studios is making advances and has snagged a set of writers.

The Gunn cousins, Mark and Brian (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island) are set to write the screenplay, with Marc Shmuger (Dead of Winter) producing and Mike Richardson (co-writer of the 1994 movie) is executive producing. This according to THR, who also had this insight into the new film.

The first movie had the sci-fi elements very much in the foreground; however, this version of Timecop is a more gritty and grounded police story with the sci-fi in the background, though it will still have the main character on a personal journey.

Interesting.

We’ll be sure and keep you posted on the latest for Timecop.
