The Wolverine: Fox Narrows Director Search Down To Eight

Back in April, we told you about director Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) intimating that he was interested and even possibly speaking with 20th Century Fox about helming the forthcoming Hugh Jackman film, The Wolverine, taking the place of director Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan) who left the project.

Now, Variety reports that 20th Century Fox has narrowed their director search for The Wolverine down to eight directors, none of which are Duncan Jones. The directors on their shortlist include José Padilha (Elite Squad 2), Doug Liman (Jumper), Antoine Fuqua (Shooter), Mark Romanek (Never Let Me Go), Justin Lin (Fast Five), Gavin O’Connor (Warrior), James Mangold (Knight and Day), and short film/commercial director Gary Shore (The Draft).

The Wolverine is slated to hit theaters in 2012.
