The Snow Queen Cometh In 3D In Disney’s FROZEN

How better to welcome the holiday season than with a fairytale about a bewitching queen of snow? Disney is finally bringing The Snow Queen, a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, to you in the 2013 holiday season with a film called Frozen.

According to Slashfilm, this project has been stuck in the development phase for at least a decade, but Disney has just announced that Frozen will be a CG animated feature, presented in stereoscopic 3D in theaters. It was previously thought that Frozen would be the follow-up to The Princess and the Frog in a hand-drawn style.

The Snow Queen was written in 1845 and regarded as one of Hans Christian Andersen’s best works. It “centers on the struggle between good and evil as experienced by a little boy and girl, Kay and Gerda.”

Frozen is slated to hit theaters November 27, 2013.
