Take On Vampires Hong Kong-Style! Warner Bros To Adapt UNDYING LOVE

Now this is a story of boy meets girl that involves boy battling an army of monsters in the Hong Kong underworld! In line with the vampire trend in entertainment today, this adaptation of a comic book mini-series by Image Comics called Undying Love will set itself apart with the action stylings of Hong Kong action films.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros has picked up Undying Love, a series created by Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman. Coker and Freedman will also be writing the script for the big screen adaptation. Check out the synopsis below:

“The story centers on an ex-soldier who falls for a girl that happens to be a vampire. The only way the two can be together is if the man takes on the vampire who created her, which also means fighting an army of monsters in the Hong Kong underworld.”

Producers on Undying Love include Stephen L’Heureux and Benderspink that is run by Chris Bender and J.C. Spink. Jake Weiner will executive produce and Ford Gilmore will be co-producing.

I’m also excited to see how Coker and Freedman have infused European vampire lore with Chinese monster mythology. But looking at Undying Love at face value – vampires + Hong Kong action? How could you possibly say “no” to this?

No release date has been set yet for Undying Love.
