Earlier this week, we brought you a report about reports Jessica Biel (Total Recall) entering negotiations for join the cast of The Wolverine, directed by James Mangold as Viper/Victoria, a character with a long history of Marvel lore who began as a Captain America antagonist, and later became a lover of the Silver Samurai who is thwarted by Wolverine when she attempts to assassinate Mariko.

We later updated that report when talks between Biel and 20th Century Fox fell apart and the actress passed on the role. Now, Twitch reports that Russian actress Svetlana Khodchenkova (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy) is now in talks to take the role opposite Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, Will Yun Lee, Brian Tee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, and Hugh Jackman.

The Wolverine is slated to hit theaters on July 26th, 2013.
