SUPERNATURAL Takes Aim at TWILIGHT Franchise

You gotta love a show that pokes fun at popular trends that are almost begging to be mocked. This season, the CW’s Supernatural will be taking aim at the Twilight franchise. (Jeez, what took them so long? Oh yes, the Apocalypse got in the way.)

The latest tidbits to emerge are that the sixth episode of the new season, called “Live Free or Twi-Hard“, will feature a vampire character named Robert, an obvious reference to Robert Pattinson (Unbound Captives, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) and his role as the vampire, Edward Cullen, in the Twilight films.  Along with this Robert character, there is also a vampire named Boris who is described as “large and frightening”.

Supernatural has memorably mocked Criss Angel in season four in an episode entitled “Criss Angel is a Douchebag”.

I can’t wait to see what the writers do on this ep to put Twilight in its place! Sam and Dean (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles) had better be doing some slay-age!

Supernatural premieres with season six on the CW, September 24, 2010.
