SUPERMAN: Edgar Ramirez and Michael Shannon Being Eyed for Villain?

Back in February we brought you a report about Viggo Mortensen (A Dangerous Method), reportedly being at the top of Warner Bros. list to portray the villainous ‘General Zod’ in the hotly anticipated reboot being produced by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight Rises). While director Zack Snyder didn’t refute that Mortensen was a person of interest, he has since stated “Yeah Viggo is not going to be in the movie let’s say that right now. I can clear that up.

Now, LatinoReview reports that Edgar Ramirez (Carlos, Wrath of the Titans) is “being eyed” for a villain role in Zack Snyder‘s Superman. reboot, though they are unsure whether he’s being looked at to play Zod or another villain. In addition to the report about Ramirez, Deadline reports that Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire, Machine Gun Preacher) is in contention for an uknown villainous role in the film as well.

Superman (aka Superman: Man of Steel) is slated to hit theaters in 2012.
