SUPERMAN: Amy Adams Scores the Role of Lois Lane

Amy Adams (Leap Year, The Fighter) has scored what has become one of the most highly coveted roles in Hollywood right now. The three-time Oscar nominated actress will be starring as Lois Lane, opposite Henry Cavill as Clark Kent / Superman in director Zack Snyder‘s forthcoming Superman reboot for Warner Bros. Pictures.

Snyder told the LATimes,

“There was a big, giant search for Lois. For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it.”

The director didn’t let any plot-points slip, but he did say that the role of Lois is “a linchpin” to the project.

Production is slated to begin on Snyder’s Superman reboot later this summer, and part of the production will reportedly take place in Plano, Illinois, just outside of Chicago. Warner Bros. has already begun hiring crew members for a production under the code name August Frost, which insiders believe is Superman: Man of Steel. Chicago Business reports that the studio will be prepping for 10 weeks, and shooting for 10 weeks in and around Plano, IL.

Superman (aka Superman: Man of Steel) is slated to hit theaters in 2012.
