Stephen King’s Showtime Series UNDER THE DOME Finds a Writer

We told you back at the end of August that Stephen King and Steven Spielberg are collaborating on a dramatization of King’s 2009 novel Under the Dome, for cable network Showtime, to be produced by DreamWorks Television. They hadn’t yet found a writer, but that has changed, as word comes that comic book and Lost writer Brian K. Vaughan is their choice.

Deadline first broke the news, and describes the novel as a “supernatural thriller revolves around locals at a Maine vacation spot who battle one another when a force field suddenly surrounds their town and cuts them off from the rest of the world.” Vaughan is best known for writing the comic book series Y: The Last Man, Ex Machina, Runaways and Pride Of Baghdad and for being a writer on seasons 3-5 of Lost.

Are you kidding?! We were already excited, with Stephen King, Steven Spielberg and Showtime. Add in Brian K. Vaughan and we now need to switch to decaf to stay calm. WE CAN’T WAIT. Stay tuned!
