Stan Lee To Create And Star In New Comic Book Series

The legendary Stan Lee is to write and star in a new comic series titled Super Seven. Created as part of a joint venture between Archie Comics and Lee’s POW! Entertainment, the project is also being developed as an animated television series. Super Seven tells the story of seven aliens who become stranded on Earth after their spaceship crashes. They are befriended by Lee, who helps them resume their lives as superheroes on Earth.

Lee said,

“Nothing is more exciting to me as a writer than creating a new type of story or introducing a new theme. Although I’ve briefly appeared in other comics, Super Seven is the first time that I’ll actually be a continuing character in a far-out, original superhero series”

The Spider-Man co-creator has previously appeared in an 1963 issue of The Fantastic Four alongside collaborator Jack Kirby. He has also made cameos in the Marvel film adaptations.

Super Seven will debut in late 2010.
